At the Milly FW18 show

Thursday, February 8

11:55 PM redeye flight from LAX to JF Kennedy left me tired, dazed and confused. So much so, Thursday had to be canceled, opting for a long snooze session over fashion week festivities. On a positive note, I’m pretty sure Thursday, February 8, 2018, marks the day I mastered public transportation. I guess you can say; I’m officially New Yorker material. There’s always a good lol.

We also manage to wrap up the night by attending the XULY.Bët x MIMI PROBER x HOGAN McLAUGHLIN fashion show produced by the boss lady, Kelly Cutrone. We sat across from Whoopi Goldberg which was quite cool. You're bound to bump into a celebrity or two during fashion week but Whoopi Goldberg is someone I did not expect.

Friday, February 9

New York Fashion Week is off to slow and torturous start with my travel/work buddy, Michelle falling ill to food poisoning. Fashion and traveling aren’t always as glamorous as the photos we post on the gram. Before fashion week, we had scheduled out a strict itinerary to ensure that we make the trip as productive as possible. I’m sure you can imagine by now, the plans have completely gone to shit. On top of it all, we had made several brand partnership deals that for some reason never made it to fruition. This is like a bad cherry on top of an already shitty cake. But that is life, and we must make the best of our situations. And I intend to.

One positive thing was attending the Milly FW18 show with my gal pal, Alisha from @saffrononrose. If there was one thing to take away from the show was that vibrant colors are totally in! I’m talking passionate reds, mustard yellows, fluffy pinks, royal blues and lots of flamboyant sparkles. What a stunning and inspiring show curated by Michelle Smith!

My outfit of choice was none other than a Pepto Bismol inspired monochromatic pink ensemble. Yes, argue that millennial pink is dead and gone with the crowning of ultra-violet as the Pantone color of the year, I beg to differ. Or I just don’t care about rules, but either way millennial pink is alive and well in my books.
