If you could invest in one thing from Burberry and one thing only, there are no doubts that it would be their classic heritage trench coat. The one pictured above is the: Kensington Mid-Length Heritage Trench Coat in Stone.

Every high-end brand has a specialty item that they are known for, a particular style, quality, or design aimed to withstand the test of time. Chanel is their iconic ladylike tweed jackets and their classic quilted flap bag. And Burberry, drum roll please-their classic trench coats.

When shopping high-end, I typically avoid trendy pieces and opt for the brand's "specialty" item. I want this to be a "till death do us apart" kind of clothing, human relationship lol. But seriously, if I’m blowing that much money on an article of clothing, I want something that will last. So I aim to invest in classics.

Most of my high-end pieces consist of timeless basics-blazers, coats, monochromatic skirts, and classic button up tops. My favorite thing is to mix and match them with more affordable options such as Zara, Ann Taylor, H&M, etc. Fashion isn’t just about dressing high-end but more importantly how you style the clothes.

My style is more on the feminine side while the Burberry classic heritage trench coat is pretty gender neutral. To up the girly factor, I added a Forever 21 collared floral lace top, H&M lace skirt, and nude tie up sandals from DVF. Bam, Insta-feminine. But you can create a variety of versatile looks with the classic heritage trench coat. For a more casual and tomboy look, you can wear skinny jeans, a gray top, and sneakers. Or for a semi-dressy look, a simple black dress, a bold red bag, and a pair of black sandals. But the options are endless; I encourage you to play around with classic pieces and give it your personal spin.
