Dressing NYFW- Tips to surviving New York winters
New York Fashion Week 2017 officially marks my third time visiting New York City during the brutal winter season. And after multiple visits and many, “I’m on the brink of frostbite” experiences, I’ve gotten extremely pro at layering for warmth. So on my blog today, I thought I’d share some of my tips and tricks for conquering the frigid temperates of New York winters.
I’m also sharing three outfits I wore to New York Fashion Week that kept me warm and stylish. This year was by far the best and busiest NYFW because I had the pleasure of working as a photographer for shows, doing back to back showroom collaborations, and media tastings.

On the blog today, I am sharing four cozy layering looks that’ll not only keep you stylish but warm.
Layering usually isn’t necessary for sunny California, but since it’s more like chilly California these days, I’m taking all opportunities to layer up. Also because I ate a lot during the winter time, so I like this whole layering thing.
Coats are my key piece to layering. My body type is more on the top heavy side so thick sweaters usually end up making me appear like a giant walking marshmallow. So, luckily long coats help tie the look together by elongating and slimming the figure
I entered the Saku New York show partially exhausted and admittingly with minimal knowledge of the brand. Little did I know, the show would be one of the highlights of my NYFW 2017 experience.
This time around, I attended a couple of shows as a photographer rather than a guest. And for Saku, a photographer. Ten minutes late to the show photographer, unfortunately. As you can imagine, upon arrival, I stumbled out of my Lyft car like a tumbleweed, only to be greeted by a line as long as time. Luckily for me, a photographer's pass meant bye bye line.
